Injustice: Gods Among Us REVIEW

A quick REVIEW of Injustice: Gods Among Us DEMO:

Characters: It lets you play as Batman, Lex Luthor or Wonder Woman. I was expecting at least one more character, maybe two heroes and two villains, but it still a lot of fun. Plus you can fight against Doomsday so it's ok. (9/10)

Visuals/Sound: EVERYTHING in this game looks and sounds perfect. (10/10)

Gameplay: I recommend to everyone to play the demo before buying the game. The controls are kind of complicated and the DEMO will help you a lot, trust me. The DEMO has the classic arcade mode and a P1 vs. P2 mode. No Online. (9/10)

Total: 9.5 for this epic DEMO.

Good for ANY fighting game lover. Now go download it, is already out for PS3.
(Xbox available tomorrow)

Halo 4 Review

Since 2001, Microsoft has been giving their fans one of the biggest blockbusters on the video game world, and this is obviously Halo. On November 6 they did it again, with the release of one of 2012 most anticipated games, and the beginning of a new era, Halo 4.

This review is going to be a little different, I’m just going to talk about the two most important things of Halo 4: Campaign and Multiplayer.

Halo 4’s campaign starts right were we left it on Halo 3. Master Chief is on board the Forward Unto Dawn who suffers some kind of accident. When Master Chief wakes up from his cryo-chamber, Cortana told him he has been there 4 years, meaning that from the end of Halo 3 to Halo 4, 4 years have passed. From here everything is action. Master Chief crashed to the new planet “Requiem” where he meets the “Forerunners”, the new alien species Master Chief has to fight.

Halo 4 is perfect in every way. The graphics are mind blowing, the way every cinematic in game is 100% CGI make it even better, the new textures for the weapons, the faces of the other humans, and well of course, the way they re-make Master Chief’s armor witch is totally awesome. The sound of the game, it’s something else; the way every gun, it doesn’t matter if it’s human, Covenant or Forerunner, all of them sound incredible.

Now in story I just can say Halo 4 is jaw dropping in all ways. I’m not even going to tell you anything more, because I think it’s so epic, it’s worth to play it your self and find out. But the only thing I was kind of disappoint was that if you are an actual Halo veteran, you can actually beat the campaign in 5 to 6 hours, and when you are a real Halo fan, and you have been almost 5 years waiting for Master Chief to come back, you don’t want to be just 5 to 6 hours playing with him.

But I guess 343 know what they are doing, they didn’t give us the players a really long story, but what they DO give us was an incredibly HUGE multiplayer experience, witch it our next theme.

Halo 4’s multiplayer it’s just, HUGE! The multiplayer counts with 2 types of game, War Games witch is the classic multiplayer PvP (Slayer, Capture the Flag etc.) and the newest mode called Spartan Ops witch is a Co-Op. Lets talk about Spartan Ops. Like I said, Spartan Ops is the newest multiplayer mode, it’s a Co-Op where you and up to three other players/friends have to complete missions. This mode has a really special way to work and this is that when you buy the game, it comes with what they call “Episode 1”. This episodes are going to be release weekly. There are 10 episode and each one includes 5 missions. The episodes also includes cinematic witch will tell you Halo 4’s 2nd campaign, witch is the player’s own Spartan IV Soldier campaign. So instead of combining the game’s campaign with the Spartan customization, they let you create your own Spartan IV for the multiplayer and they will tell you his/her story on the “Spartan Ops” every week with this episodes.

Other mayor changes on the multiplayer are:

  • The ability to customize your loadouts.
  • The new level system (Now it’s called Spartan Ranks) and the new Specialization wich are kind of classes.
  • The new maps
  • All the new armors, helmets etc. they add to the Spartan customization.
  • And much more.

Halo 4 it’s an epic game, I’m sure every Halo fan will be pleased with it, specially with all the awesome things they add to the multiplayer experience. The story is awesome, the graphics can only be describe as “PERFECT” and the new sounds effects are mind blowing. So Halo 4 score is going to be a 10. But remember, this is just my opinion, feel free to play the game yourself and give it your own score.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II Review

On 2010 Treyarch give the Call of Duty fans what they were waiting for a long time, an actual big change in the Call of Duty franchise. After last years big disappointment with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 being almost the same as Modern Warfare 2, everyone question was: “Is Treyarch going to do the same with Black Ops 2 or Call of Duty will finally move on?”. That question was answered last Tuesday with the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops II, and this is what we got.

Call Of Duty Black Ops 2 takes place in the near future (2025) and tells the story of David Mason, son of Call of Duty: Black Ops I protagonist, Alex Mason. You will play as both character through the campaign mode and experience both, missions in the future and in the past, mixing both stories.

The game graphics in Call of Duty: Black Ops II are quiet the same as we saw in Black Ops I , only a little upgrade, in weapons and maybe in the characters itself, but not a major change.

In Black Ops II players will find some new adds to the gameplay such as the ability to become invisible with a spacial jacket and now at some points of the mission, the players will be allowed to choose one of two ways to complete the mission, like going sniper or rushing through the battleground.
Call of Duty: Black Ops II multiplayer is quite entertaining too, and I think no matter if you are a casual or a hardcore gamer you will enjoy the multiplayer.

The maps are good like always some big, some small, others medium size maps. They included MW3’s kill confirmed mode which people liked a lot in MW3, they did not included infected mode which I would personally would have enjoyed having it, but its all good. They also changed the create a class system, now you have 10 points you have to use in order to create your class, they also have these new “perks” that are called “wildcards” these allows you kind of an extra perk like for example removing your secondary for a second primary or having three attachments on your primary gun.

Also now your kill streaks are called “Score Streaks” because now you don’t get them by kills, but by completing the objective and killing so you can make point and use your streaks.

Zombies are now divided in two game modes and are even more difficult that they were before. They also give the player the ability to customize their games in which you can select things like “Head Shots Only” etc.

The new Zombie game modes are called “TranZit and Grief”.
TranZit is a mode where you start in a selected part of a huge map and you got to get into a bus to get to the other part of the map or you can just go walking (which I don’t recommend). Some of the new features includes a crafting table in which you can build some kinds of equipments to help you out in the game, for example, instead of having to find the “Light Switch” to open some doors or activate the “Perks Cola Machines” you can just find some pieces and craft a portable energy plant that will give you access to all this without needing the lights on. And yes you can use this more than once, but is not infinite.

Grief is the second and newest game mode in which there are two teams of four in a map, and you have tho choose if all of you want to survive together or make the game a little more competitive trying to make the other team die. So the eight of you can try to make some high scores or kill each other and the first team to die looses the match.

Like I said before, Zombies has become more difficult than ever and I personally think it has become a teamwork game. I recommend that if you really want to have a good time playing, you better play with some friends with your microphones ON or at least with some way to communicate, because now more than ever, this game requires team work.

I conclude saying That Call of Duty is a good game for any FPS player. Maybe it doesn’t have mayor changes but some of the new features of the game make it really fun to play, for example, now you can play Zombies Mode on split screen with up to three other players.
For me Call of Duty: Black Ops II score would be a 8/10 first because we didn’t see really mayor changes from the last Black Ops game, and second because at least for PlayStation 3, the game has been having some problems with the servers on the Multiplayer. But remember this is just my opinion, feel free to get the game, play it yourself and give it your own score.

- WOLF

Hi guys, first I want to thanks WOLF for helping me with this review. I am a little short on money so I couldn’t buy the game, hope to have it really soon. But I want to make a little review myself but from what I’ve seen on the internet like game plays, pictures and other reviews by IGN or GameInformer.

I want to start with the graphics, I really don’t feel like Treyarch wanted to make a real change on them. I personally think they were so focused on making the Multiplayer fun that they forget they could actually mix good multiplayer with new graphics. But I also have to say I really like the sound of the guns, vehicles and everything. CoD: Black Ops II has really good sound.

In zombies mode I really like the overall, but with the Grief mode I feel like Treyarch should have been more creative in the ways you play the offensive like add some cool stuff you can do to the other team, not just a simple knife or whatever they put.

But besides that I have to say I really like how the multiplayer experience has change. I really like the sound and I heard it on a YouTube video I can’t imagine what it will be like in real life.
So I give Call of Duty: Black Ops II an 8.5. But like we always say, this is our opinion, feel free to get the game and play it yourself so you can give it your own score.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II is the third out of five games to enter the SOTG’s 2012 Game of The Year.

Assassin's Creed III Review

For the last five years, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed has been one of the most anticipated games every year. Since the release of Assassin’s Creed II, everyone has been waiting for a new Assassin’s Creed game and even tho they release Brotherhood and Revelations, they were both with the same assassin as AC2 so we loved them, but we were waiting for a new story, with a new character and a new era; and yesterday, Ubisoft answered our prays with the release of Assassin’s Creed III.

As always, we will be making this review seen the three most important aspects of a video game: story, graphics and gameplay.

Assassin’s Creed III takes place in the 1770’s on the colonial United States. The game tells the story of a young native-american boy named Connor and how he becomes an assassin fighting against the Templars. In the game you can see Connor in three different times of his life; when he is a five year old boy, a 16 years old teen and a 19+ adult. The story takes you to different parts of the United States history, from battles that occurred in real life, to the signing of the Declaration of Independence, also showing you important people of history like George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Samuel Adams and others. But obviously Assassin’s Creed is not only about the assassin in the animus, it’s also the story of Desmond Miles witch once again is a playable character on the game and this time his missions are part of the game, not optional, but they are actually pretty fun to play; and as Ubisoft revealed some weeks ago, this is Desmond’s last chapter.

Since the reveal of Assassin’s Creed III one of the first thing every fan notice is how the graphics changed. Assassin’s Creed III has one of the best graphics I’ve seen in a video game so far. Even tho it can be buggy some times, the game counts with spectacular graphics, from the environment to the people. Some times when you are on a in-game conversation, you can see other character’s mouth moving, but they are not actually talking ( That’s what I meant when I said there are some minor bugs). But one of the best thing in the graphics of the game, it’s how now you can see, for the first time in a Assassin’s Creed game, different seasons (Like everything is snowy when it’s Fall and everything it’s alive and green when its Spring) and something as simple as rain that makes the game so unique from the others of the franchise.

But the graphics are not the only mayor change on Assassin’s Creed III, the gameplay is a new one also; so lets start with the combat. AC3 counts with an excellent combat system. The player can feel how smooth and fast the character actually is and how easy it’s to kill someone, specially with the tomahawk (Witch it’s awesome!). But AC3 not only has hand to hand combat, it also counts with a new add on to the game called “Naval Warfare” witch allows the player to take control of a ship and fight against other ships on the sea (It’s like Pirates of the Caribbean but way cooler); witch it happens to be one of the best mini-games on the franchise. The game also counts with the classic free running movement of the assassins, but this time allowing you to climb up trees and even running inside a house witch you can use a chase breaker when the guards are chasing you, that without mentioning the character is way faster than the ones before and the new weapons are all good.

And for last the game, like the last two Assassin’s Creed games, has a multiplayer witch is the same as the Brotherhood and Revelations one, just with a few different things, but the system it’s still the same. The only mayor change on the multiplayer is the new game mode called “Wolf Pack” witch allows the player and three other friends to play as a team to take down their (AI) targets to make their own high scores, witch I have to admit, it’s pretty fun to play.

To finish, Assassin’s Creed III is a great game. It has a story really fun to play, the graphics will blow your mind, and the game play is really addictive. The multiplayer, even tho it’s kind of the same as we have seen before, still really fun to play and if you have the chance, grab some friends and go play some Wolf Pack, it’s worth it. So to me Assassin’s Creed III score is a 9.5 and it’s the first game to enter our “Top 5 Sons of the Game’s Game of The Year”. But remember, this is only my opinion, feel free to play the game yourself and give it your own score.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale BETA Review

I can’t remember right now when or where SONY announce Play Station All-Stars Battle Royale, but recently they release the BETA. Las week the BETA was release for PlayStation PLUS users and now is public.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale it’s a PlayStation exclusive, fighting game where almost every character from PlayStation get together in one game to fight (Same thing we have been seeing the last years with Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo). Like I said before, the BETA was release this week and now it’s time for us to give you our Review. Please remember this is a review for the BETA not the full game.

When we get a game there are some things that we like to see in a game; for example: good graphics, good gameplay and good story. In the case of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, we are going to skip the “story” part because it’s just a BETA and you are not allowed to play the story of the game (Actually, I’m not even sure if there is one).

Graphics:

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale has pretty good graphics to be honest. The game is really colorful, but not to the point were it looks too cartoonish. At the beginning I was worried because I was asking myself, How are they going to mix characters like Kratos or Sweet Tooth that are so realistic made with other characters like Fat Princess or Parappa? But I have to say SONY made a grate job in this aspect. All characters look amazing and the stages too. The mixture of both, realistic made character and cartoonish made characters, with the colorful stages looks pretty cool (At least in a HD TV). I personally didn’t find any problem with the graphics.

Gameplay:

When you see a game that is 95% the same gameplay as Super Smash Bros. you can’t imagine something can go wrong; but actually, it can. The game has an amazing gameplay, that’s right, the stages are pretty simple and the characters are all pretty cool and easy to control. But, there are some things that I don’t really like; for example: Kratos! Everyone love Kratos right? Come on, he’s the guy who kills gods with his own hands, all the fans love him, and apparently, the Developers too. In this game Kratos is the best character of all, and that’s not exactly good. He’s too cheap! I played 6 games and 3 of them were using Kratos, and guess what? I won every match. The other 3 games, whoever used Kratos won, and I don’t think that’s a coincidence. I feel Like Kratos is going to be the Meta Knight of this game, because I feel like it was way too powerful compare to the other characters.

Second thing I didn’t like? I feel like this game is not a game of skills, it’s a game of luck. The game gives you a time limit where you have to do the most kills to win. How do you do this kills? Well you have to fill a little bar you have on the bottom of your screen and when it’s filled, you can use some kind of “Special Attack” that will automatically kill whoever you get. So that means... Just hit every button randomly and hope that bar gets filled and you can kill something. Imagine a Super Smash Bros. that the only way you can kill someone is by using the “Smash Attack”, nothing else. No spikes, no combos, nothing, just Special Attack and done. This is not good, I don’t want people to have luck, I want them to have real skills in this game. But sadly SONY decide to make it that way so we have no option.

Another thing people din’t like from the gameplay videos was that the saw that the stages were too interactive, but to be honest is not that much, it is interactive, but not to the point where you want to turn off the console or stop playing the game.

Score:

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is a really fun to play game. The graphics are pretty cool, the characters are all awesome, and the stages are epic. If you have the opportunity, get 3 of your friends, invite them to a private match and have some fun. The BETA lets you play with characters like:

- Sweet Tooth - from Twisted Metal

- Fat Princess - from Fat Princess

- Parappa - from Parappa The Rapper

- Sly Cooper - from Sly Cooper

- Kratos - from God of War

- Radec -  from Killzone

But I recommend you don’t let your friends use Kratos. My score for the PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale BETA is a 9. But remember that this is just my opinion, feel free to download the game and try it yourself.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale will be release on November 21, 2012.
